Some people will buy anything....
Have you noticed the Geico commericals lately? I'm referring to the little pile of money with eye balls that follows people around claiming to be the amount of money they could have saved had they switched to Geico. In my opinion this is not good creative It's actually not creative. But this company is consistent in creating ads of poor creative tast. The caveman commercials were bad and had nothing to do with insurance. They ran with that idea entirely too long. This company seems to buy any crap creative their agency, assuming it's coming from an agency, throw at them. For someone else's opion click here.
What's an example of better creative. The Maytag repair man commercials would be a better example. The repair man has no work to do on Maytag products so he's working on repairing other factory machines, i.e. teddy bear machines that are putting the parts together the wrong way. It's funny, clever, and reinforces Maytag's main message of reliability and durability. Definatility more creative thought put behind this ad than any of Geico's ads.
